ABOUT THE AUTHOR

David Biegemann is the proprietor of Pop More Corks, a wine & cheese concession nestled on the east side of the downtown area of the popular resort town, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  He learned his trade during a 30 years career in the restaurant and wholesale wine business.  His extensive knowledge of wine is not, however, the only thing that makes shopping for just that right bottle of wine such an engaging experience at Pop More Corks.

Some difficult life lessons have aged David’s soul, like a fine mature wine.     Somehow, initial discussions centering on spirits often seem to drift into other areas along with the bouquet of a Pinot Noir or Bordeaux being sampled by customers.

On the pages of Pop More Corks you’ll be able to walk a while in David’s shoes and experience the enchantment when opened wine spills over into an open soul refreshing both palate and spirit.

David Biegemann walked the path pursued by millions of Americans seduced by stereotypical visions of success, too often represented by climbing the corporate ladder and achieving the American Dream in terms of cars, income, and a beautiful home.  David was well on his way to achieving that version of fulfillment when a sudden, massive, and debilitating stroke forced him down a different Path.

Pop More Corks is the story of how one man learned to search his soul for what is truly important in life.  The principles that provide people with a sense of fulfillment and happiness are not always apparent.  In our culture, we often see only what the media and the marketplace want us to see.  David’s medical crisis didn’t affect his mind or his vision, but it did open his eyes to see his life in a different light.

David’s rocky life Path eventually led him to open his store, Pop More Corks, where every day he opens his door, opens a few bottles of fine wine, and the world streams in bringing so many wonderful people and their stories.  To be sure, David and his customers talk wine and experience the best that the Wine Culture has to offer, but there is always much much … more.
